Manhattan nightclub the Café Carlyle has announced a fall lineup of concerts by Broadway stars including venue debuts by Hamilton star Mandy Gonzalez, Spring Awakening composer Duncan Sheik, and return engagements by club favorites Rita Wilson and Jessica Molaskey, among others.
Woody Allen also announced that he has extended his customary Monday evening gigs there with the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band through December 11.
Among the highlights:
Mandy Gonzalez, who took over the role of Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton and who has appeared on Broadway in Wicked and In the Heights, will make her venue debut with the new show Mandy Gonzalez: Fearless!, October 24–November 4, offering a preview of her forthcoming debut album.
Duncan Sheik, composer of Broadway’s Spring Awakening and American Psycho, will appear October 3–7 to perform numbers from these and his various pop albums. Sheik is currently working on several stage musicals, including Secret Life of Bees and Because of Winn-Dixie.
Singer-songwriter and Broadway actor Rita Wilson returns to Café Carlyle October 10–21 with a program of songs featured on her self-titled sophomore album, plus material from her upcoming album to be released in early 2018.
Grammy Award-winner and two time Emmy nominee Steve Tyrell celebrates his 13th year performing in Café Carlyle’s holiday slot, having taken over from the legendary Bobby Short in 2005. Tyrell’s all-new show will run December 5–31.
