The musical, which opens Aug. 6 with a positive buzz more powerful than any Broadway show in years, will be accompanied by a public fireworks display over the Hudson River, starting at 10:45 PM after the curtain falls.
Special opening-night events will commence during the afternoon in front of the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 W. 46 St.), where the show is playing. The daily drawing for a limited number of $10 #Ham4Ham mezzanine seats will take place earlier than usual. Names will be gathered starting at 1:30 PM with the lottery winners announced at 2 PM. The lottery drawing for the coveted opening-night tickets will be hosted personally by the show's star and author, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
At 10:01 PM Aug. 6 a new block of seats for Hamilton will go on sale, extending the sale period through June 4, 2016. Tickets can be purchased by phone at (877) 250-2929, online at Ticketmaster.com or at the show's official website www.hamiltononbroadway.com. Starting Friday morning, Aug. 7 the new block of tickets will also be sold at the Rodgers Theatre box office.
The recommended best view of the 10:45 PM fireworks will be along the West Side waterfront from Christopher Street to Pier 66 (West 26th St.). While watching the fireworks, people can also listen to a 12-minute musical compilation of Americana that accompanies the display via simulcast by logging on to www.hamiltonbroadway.com/fireworks.
