Film & TV News Hamilton’s Anthony Ramos Joins Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper Star Is Born Remake Ramos will play an aspiring dancer in the latest remake of the 1937 film classic.

Anthony Ramos, who made his Broadway debut as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton in the Lin-Manuel Miranda hit Hamilton, has signed on for two major film roles, according to Deadline.

First up is the Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper remake of A Star Is Born, slated for release September 28, 2018. In the latest version, the female role, originally portrayed as a movie star on the rise, has been reconceived as a small-time nightclub singer (Lady Gaga) who eventually achieves international stardom. Ramos will play Gaga’s best friend Ramon, a young dancer on the rise.

He has also been cast as Corporal Mendoza in Legendary/Warner Bros’ Godzillla: King of Monsters, which will arrive in theatres March 22, 2019.

Ramos’ upcoming projects also include the Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It and the film White Girl, which hits theatres July 7.
