In the tradition of Lily Tomlin and Tracy Ullman, Lori Hamilton brings her Fairy Godmothers, Psychic Friends and Other Myth Information, a one woman stand-up story, to Seattle's Annex Theatre May 7 and 8.
In a multimedia world of her own slides, video, music and sound effects, Hamilton introduces the land of Myth Information, where an insecure "best friend," discouraging mother, hopeful past ancestor and a struggling writer, stuck as a coat check girl in a Mexican restaurant, all come together. Myth Information grew out of The 12 Labors of Hercules: A Modern Day Myth, first performed at Atlanta's Fringe Festival.
Hamilton plans to take the show beyond Seattle with dates lined up in Minneapolis (Mixed Blood Theatre, June 14-18) and Chicago (Prop THTR's new play festival, June 28-July 2). Other tentative stops include Denver (July) and Philadephis (late Sept., early Oct.).
Tickets for Seattle are $10. For reservations, call (206) 517-0399.
