Broadway’s James Monroe Iglehart will put his comic fandom to use when he writes Spider-Man tales for Marvel Comics, according to Bleeding Cool.
His first Spider-Man story will appear in Marvel Comics Presents #3, which features the continuing Wolverine story by Charles Soule and Paulo Siqueira, a Captain America story by Andrew Aydin (drawn by Daniel Acuna), and Igelhart’s story drawn by Moon Girl and Ray-Anthony Height.
Iglehart made his Broadway debut replacing for the role of Mitch Mahoney in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He originated the role of Bobby in Memphis before going on to originate the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway, for which he won the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award. Marvel Comics is a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company.
