The Boston Pops are swapping one original Hamilton star for two. Due to scheduling conflicts with an upcoming film project, Hamilton Tony winner Leslie Odom, Jr. is unable to join the Pops as scheduled for the June 12–14 concerts at Symphony Hall.
Stepping in for Broadway’s original Aaron Burr are fellow Hamilton originators Renée Elise Goldsberry and Phillipa Soo, who created the roles of Angelica and Eliza Schuyler in the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical. Both were Tony-nominated for their performances, with Goldsberry taking home the Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
Soo appears as Goldsberry’s special guest for the three concerts.
