Oscar Hammerstein II, who wrote lyrics to "You've Got To Be Carefully Taught," is continuing to fight prejudice long after his death -- through his songs. All Kinds of People, a revue of Hammerstein theatre songs that explore prejudice and plead for understanding between people, has been touring New York City area high schools, but will get an official off-Broadway premiere May 2 at The Town Hall theatre 11 AM May 2 for an invited audience of high school students.

The opening, and scheduled follow-up performances May 31 and June 7, are not open to the public.

The 50-minute revue will be accompanied by discussions and student participation. The title comes from a song from Pipe Dream, which states "It takes all kinds of people to make up a world." The show includes songs from The King and I, Flower Drum Song, The Sound of Music, Cinderella, Show Boat and Carousel.
