Hanks, who portrayed Elle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde after winning the reality television competition "Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods," will be part of a cast that also features Deidre Goodwin (A Chorus Line, Nine) and Morgan Karr (Spring Awakening, Everyday Rapture). Additional cast members include Krystal Joy Brown (Rent), Landon Beard (Altar Boyz), Tracy Weiler, Nina Sturtz ("The Battery’s Down"), Daniel Robinson (Hairspray), Kevin Michael Murphy, Kate Roth, Andrew Christi, Robert W. Fowler, Micah Rapisand, Christie Schwartzman, Alex Rolecek and Reymundo Santiago.

VOTE! has book and lyrics by Ryann Ferguson with music and additional lyrics by Steven Jamail. The musical will play the Minetta Lane Theatre as part of the New York International Fringe Festival from Aug. 14-26.

VOTE!, according to press notes, focuses "on the electoral process from the perspective of three high school seniors. The race forces the candidates to consider the meaning of each vote and the importance of distinctive character in politics. While some of the students have no problem gaining approval from their peers, others act as though they'll stop at nothing to win the coveted position of student council president."

Ryan J. Davis directs the musical comedy that features choreography by Rachelle Rak ("Every Little Step," Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), lighting design by Brian Tovar, costume design by Nicole Smith, sound design by Eric McMiller and scenic design by Hilary Noxon.
