News Harold Gould and Dominic Fumusa to Star in 13-City Morrie Tour A national tour of Tuesdays with Morrie — the stage adaptation of Mitch Albom's 1997 best seller — will launch Sept. 20 at Miami's Coconut Grove Playhouse.

The 13-city tour will star Harold Gould in the title role with Dominic Fumusa as author/journalist Mitch Albom. Gould replaces Hal Linden, who had originally been announced for the tour. Michael Montel will direct the play, which was co-written by Albom and Jeffrey Hatcher.

Tuesdays with Morrie, according to production notes, is a "recounting of the relationship between award-winning sportswriter Mitch Albom and his former sociology professor Morrie Schwartz who has been stricken with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). After years without contact, Albom recalled a forgotten promise to stay in touch and, as he once he did as a student, reclaimed his visits with Morrie every Tuesday."

Morrie will play the Coconut Grove Playhouse through Oct. 9. Engagements in Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Indianapolis, Washington D.C., Nashville, Atlanta, Louisville, Minneapolis Appleton and Fort Lauderdale will follow.

The creative team for the Tuesdays with Morrie tour includes Michael Anania (scenic design) and Ellis Tillman (costume design).

Harold Gould received an Obie Award for his work in Difficulty of Concentration. His movie credits include "Two for the Seesaw," "The Sting," "Love and Death" and "Silent Movie." Television audiences have seen Gould in "Rhoda" and "The Golden Girls" as well as the American Playhouse production of "I Never Sang for My Father." Dominic Fumusa was seen on Broadway opposite Marisa Tomei in Wait Until Dark and in the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of A Flea in Her Ear. He was part of the Off-Broadway cast of Take Me Out and was also seen in Stephen Belber's Tape. His TV credits include "Sex and the City," "The Sopranos" and "Law & Order."
