News Harriet Walter Hosts Dinner at Wyndham's, Dec. 9 Harriet Walter is as busy as ever. One of England's leading actresses, she may not have the public recognition of a Dench or a Redgrave (not enough movie work for that), but earlier this year she published a book of advice for young actors, "Other People's Shoes." And she's about to lead the West End transfer of Moira Buffini's play Dinner from the National Theatre to Wyndham's, opening on Dec. 9.

A hit at the NT, Dinner tells of a hostess, Paige (Walter), who invites a scientist, an artist and a temptress for dinner. However, there is an unexpected guest. Buffini's sister Fiona directs (the two have previously worked together twice), and Michael Codron produces. Nicholas Farrell co-stars, alongside Pennie Downie, Paul Kaye, Paul Sirr, Flora Montgomery and Adrian Lukis.

Moira Buffini's previous plays include Loveplay and Doomsday Girl for the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Jordan which won her and co-writer Anna Reynolds the Writers Guild Award. Sis Fiona directed Jordan and Gabriel at the Soho Theatre, and was Trevor Nunn's associate director on his NT Summerfolk. Her last solo directing effort there was Playboy Of The Western World.
