To discuss the current state of Broadway, New York Times cultural editor John Darnton will head a panel, May 1, featuring an actress, a director and a choreographer. Okay, not just any actress, director and choreographer but Rosemary Harris, George C. Wolfe and Ann Reinking.
Titled "Broadway 2000: On Stage and Off," the panel, running 6:30-8 PM (and starting with cocktails at 5:30), promises a "behind-the-scenes scoop on how Broadway is shaped creatively." There will also be a question and answer session.
Harris is currently appearing opposite Lauren Bacall in Waiting in the Wings; Wolfe is directing and co-writing the Broadway Wild Party, and Reinking choreographed and initially starred in the current hit revival of Chicago.
Tickets for the event are sold out. For information call (212) 302-4111.
