News Hartford Run of Mamet's American Buffalo Extended Through Oct. 25 The Hartford TheaterWorks production of David Mamet's American Buffalo, which begins performances Sept. 11, has already been extended an additional week.

TheaterWorks artistic director Steve Campo directs the production that will officially open Sept. 18 and was originally scheduled to conclude Oct. 18. Performances will now continue through Oct. 25.

TheaterWorks veteran Andrew Benator (Lobby Hero, Proof, The SantaLand Diaries) stars as Teach, with John Ahlin (The Lonesome West, Seafarer) as Don and newcomer Zachary Spicer as Bobby.

"In American Buffalo," press notes state, "three small-time hustlers conspire to steal a coin collector's priceless buffalo-head nickel. The question is...can they trust one another enough to get their piece of the American dream?"

American Buffalo has set design by Adrian Jones and lighting design by Matthew Richards.
