Previews will begin at the Jermyn Street Theatre April 21 with an official opening April 24. The limited engagement will run through May 17. The title roles will be played by Andrew Hayden-Smith (who, following an early career in the BBC children's drama "Byker Grove," was subsequently seen as a CBBC presenter and most recently appeared in "Doctor Who") and Ami Sayers (who recently played Viola in Antic Disposition's production of Twelfth Night).
Veteran West End and TV actress Susan Penhaligon joins the company to play the Nurse. Best remembered for her recurring role as Jean Hope in the ITV series "Emmerdale," she also co-starred with Judi Dench in "A Fine Romance."
Romeo and Juliet will be directed by Ben Horslen and John Risebero.
