A representative for LuPone confirmed to Playbill.com that HBO will film portions of her Feb. 1 concert, The Gypsy In My Soul, in Madison, WI, to be interspersed during her segment. Karen Goodman and Kirk Simon produce and direct the half-hour series that debuted in 2010.

Production on the "Masterclass" episode with LuPone began during her Broadway engagement in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. An air date for the segment featuring LuPone has not been announced.

Previous installments of "Masterclass" have included Edward Albee, Liv Ullman, Placido Domingo, Jacques D'Amboise and Olafur Alliason. The episodes feature artists working directly with a select group of talented students.

LuPone earned her second Tony Award for the 2008 Arthur Laurents-helmed Broadway revival of Gypsy. LuPone has starred in the world premieres of Sunset Boulevard and Les Miserables, as well as productions of Anything Goes, Oliver!, Working, The Old Neighborhood, Master Class, The Cradle Will Rock, Sweeney Todd and Pal Joey. She earned her first Tony Award for Evita in 1980. She most recently appeared on Broadway in An Evening With Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. She will co-star with Laurie Metcalf in the world premiere of David Mamet's The Anarchist on Broadway this fall. Her touring concerts also include Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda; and Matters of the Heart.
