For the third and final August installment of the #Hamildrop series, Ibeyi—the musical duo of twins Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz—have laid down a track inspired by Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony- and Pulitzer-winning musical. Ibeyi released their self-titled debut album in 2015; the following year, they appeared in Beyoncé’s Lemonade HBO special. In 2017 they released their follow-up album, Ash.
The #Hamildrop series offers new Hamilton-inspired content every month through December. Earlier this week, Miranda released two music videos as part of his August #Hamildrop offering: Mobb Deep’s “Boom Goes the Cannon” (the track was initially released as a #Hamildrop in June) and Andra Day’s cover of “Burn” (first heard on The Hamilton Mixtape).
