News Heather Raffo's Nine Parts of Desire Makes West Coast Debut at L.A.'s Geffen Sept. 6 Heather Raffo brings her Off-Broadway hit solo Nine Parts of Desire to Los Angeles for its West Coast premiere courtesy the Geffen Playhouse, beginning Sept. 6.

Joanna Settle directs writer-performer Raffo in her drama, which will be the final production for the California company at their interim space, the Brentwood Theatre, before returning to their newly renovated Westwood home at the Geffen Playhouse. In Nine Parts of Desire, Raffo portray a cross-section of Iraqi women providing "a glimpse into what it means to be a woman in the age-old war zone." The work previously enjoyed runs in London and New York.

The new season at Geffen will continue (Nov. 5-Dec. 18) with Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof starring John Goodman (Big River, "Roseanne") as Big Daddy, David Mamet's Boston Marriage (Jan. 31-March 12, 2006), Arthur Miller's All My Sons (April 11-May 21, 2006), Sam Shepard's The God of Hell (June 20-July 30, 2006) and the world premiere of Rick Cleveland's My Buddy Bill.
