The Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere of Posterity, a new play by Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife, Grey Gardens), opens March 15 following previews that began Feb. 25.

Posterity stars Hamish Linklater (Seminar, Much Ado About Nothing) and John Noble ("The Lord of the Rings," "The Good Wife") and will continue through April 5 at The Linda Gross Theater.

Wright directs a cast that also includes Dale Soules (Hair, The Crucible), Henry Stram (Inherit The Wind, Titanic) and Mickey Theis (The Fatal Eggs, The Visit).

In Posterity, "Norway's most celebrated sculptor (Linklater) is commissioned to create the last official portrait of the country's most famous writer, but Henrik Ibsen (Noble) proves to be an irascible, contentious sitter, as the two men wage war over both his legacy and his likeness. Doug Wright explores the nature of artistic success and the fear of being forgotten."

Posterity features scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by David Lander and original music and sound design by David Van Tieghem.

The Linda Gross Theater is located at 336 West 20th Street. Visit Atlantictheater.org for tickets and more information.
