MA's Shakespeare and Company opens its outdoor Mainstage production of King Henry the Fourth, Part I, previewing on Friday, July 25 and running through August 31.

Shakespeare reveals the story of Prince Hal (the future Henry V), who has fled from his father's discipline and the responsibility of the court to join drunken clown Falstaff and his band of petty thieves. When faced with the possible defeat of his father and the shame that hangs about his name, Prince Hal assembles an army and sets off for battle.

King Henry IV, Part 1 is a collaboration between Shakespeare & Company's Artistic Director Tina Packer and Director of Education, Kevin Coleman. The two have worked on many projects together in the past 20 years.

The cast includes Jason Asprey, Craig Bacon, Allyn Burrows, Jonathan Epstein, John Hadden, David Hansen, Malcom Ingram, Dan McCleary, Jane Nichols, Ann Podlozny, Walton Wilson, Eric Corbett Williams, plus a cast of 32 Summer Performance and Training Institute participants.
