This time he will play the role at Richmond Theatre in south west London, beginning performances Dec. 6 prior to an official opening Dec. 10, for a run through Jan. 12, 2014.

He debuted in the role in 2006 at the nearby New Wimbledon Theatre, also in south west London, and has subsequently played it in seasons at Woking, Milton Keynes and Liverpool. In a press statement, he said, "Captain Hook, with his sword fighting, singing off-key, and a crew that couldn't sail through a bathtub, is so much fun to play. I am filled to the brim with dastardly anticipation not only to be in Richmond’s 115-year-old theatre, but also in pantomime at Christmas time."

Winkler was seen last year on Broadway playing a veteran porn actor in the short-lived play The Performers. Other Broadway appearances include The Dinner Party and another, even shorter-lived comedy 42 Seconds from Broadway, that opened and closed on the same night in 1973.
