News Herman Is Alone at Last July 30 at the Zipper Factory Broadway arranger, pianist, musical director and conductor Ian Herman goes it solo at the Zipper Factory July 30.

Entitled Alone at Last, pianist Herman is scheduled to perform a concert of his original pop, blues, jazz, classical and Latin pieces. Show time is 8 PM. Herman penned the musical arrangements for Broadway's Swing! and was the associate musical director and associate conductor for Jackie Mason's Laughing Room Only. He also penned the dance arrangements for the latter. For the 1994 revival of Grease! Herman was a pianist and vocal coach. Herman attended the Manhattan School of Music and has worked with Jane Olivor, Donna McKechnie, Anita Morris, Judy Kaye, Karen Mason, Tom Andersen, Sharon McNight and Carole Demas. He won the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Director in 1999.
