Yank, which features music by Joseph Zellnik and book and lyrics by David Zellnik, takes its title from the World War II publication Yank Magazine. The musical is described as such: "Yank! — set in World War II — explores some of the behind-the-battlefield stories that don't make it into the history books. This bold new musical examines what it means to be a man — and what it is to fall in love and struggle to survive in a time and place where the odds are stacked against you."

Yank! was previously seen as part of the 2005 New York Musical Theatre Festival and was produced by the Gallery Players in Brooklyn in 2007. The readings will be presented at the York's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's on 54th Street, east of Lexington Avenue. Although the readings are free, reservations are required by emailing Jeff Landsman at [email protected] (include name, phone number, the show's title and the number of tickets) or by calling (212) 935-5824, ext. 24.
