News High Spirits Replaces Baker's Wife on 42nd Street Moon Schedule High Spirits, the musical version of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, will be presented by the 42nd Street Moon theatre company in spring 2009 rather than the previously announced Stephen Schwartz tuner The Baker's Wife.

High Spirits will play the San Francisco venue March 21-April 5, 2009. In a statement 42nd Street Moon artistic director Greg MacKellan said, "Unfortunately, director Gordon Greenberg, who had delighted audiences on the East Coast with past productions of The Baker's Wife, had a conflicting obligation. His production of Stephen Schwartz's Working has just been scheduled for the Old Globe Theatre at the same time we would have done The Baker's Wife. We hope to include the show in next season's line-up, and meanwhile we will replace it with High Spirits. As it happens, there will be a major Broadway revival of Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury, Christine Ebersole and Rupert Everett at the same time we are doing the musical version."

High Spirits features book, lyrics and music by Hugh Martin and Timothy Gray. The 42nd Street Moon cast will include Megan Cavanagh as Madame Arcati, Michael Patrick Gaffney as Charles Condomine, Maureen McVerry as Ruth and Dyan McBride as Elvira. MacKellan will direct with Dave Dobrusky as musical director.

The 42nd Street Moon presents its shows at the Eureka Theatre, 215 Jackson Street in San Francisco, CA. For more information visit www.42ndstmoon.org.
