Playbill headed to the world’s largest event of its kind for another year of fun, entertainment, and community.

For the fifth consecutive year, Playbill was an official sponsor of the iTheatrics Junior Theater Festival, the world’s largest festival celebrating young people and the transformative power of musical theatre. JTF Atlanta, which attracted 6,000 participants from across the U.S., took place January 12–14 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

Watch highlights from the entertainment-packed weekend in the video above.

Highlights from this year’s event include a special appearance from Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz, on hand to introduce the new student edition of his biblical musical Children of Eden JR; a performance by Tony nominee Megan Hilty; and the announcement of new shows now available for young performers including Aladdin JR and Chitty Chitty Bang Band JR.

Among the weekend festivities, JTF also honored Grammy- and Oscar-winning songwriter Paul Williams with the Junior Theatre Festival Legacy Award, and Playbill presented the Playbill Community Service Award, a total of $1,000, to Augusta Jr Players (Augusta, GA) in support of their continued charitable efforts.

Founded in 2003, JTF unites young theatre lovers annually for a weekend of performances, workshops, and special events with Broadway guest stars. Other sponsors for JTF included Music Theatre International and Disney Theatrical Group.
