News Hogan, Barron, Dillon, Anderman, Dullea and Emery Will Keep A Delicate Balance at Berkshire Fest Tony Award-nominated stage veterans Jonathan Hogan and Maureen Anderman will lead the cast of the Berkshire Theatre Festival production of Edward Albee's tense family drama A Delicate Balance.

Proof playwright David Auburn will helm the Pulitzer Prize-winning play that will run Aug. 17-Sept. 4 on the main stage. It will open Aug. 21.

Hogan (As Is) and Anderman (The Lady From Dubuque) will portray Tobias and Agnes, respectively, whose peaceful life is interrupted when unexpected friends and family come to call.

The cast will also feature Mia Barron (The Coast of Utopia) as their daughter Julia, Tony nominee Mia Dillon (Crimes of the Heart) as Edna, Keir Dullea ("2001 A Space Odyssey") as Harry and Lisa Emery (Present Laughter) as Claire.

According BTF, "Agnes and Tobias, a 50-something couple, want nothing more than to be left alone. However, they are saddled with Agnes’s alcoholic sister. When their daughter returns home as a result of her fourth divorce and their best friends seek asylum from some unnamed 'fear,' tensions fray and every relationship in the house threatens to fall apart. An examination of the intricate web we all create among our friends and family and how easily it can all fall apart, A Delicate Balance sings with Albee’s trademark lyricism and insight."

Designing the production will be R. Michael Miller (scenic design), Wade Laboissonniere (costume design), Daniel J. Kotlowitz (lighting design) and Scott Killian (original music and sound design). For tickets call the BTF box office at (413) 298-5576 or visit BerkshireTheatreFestival.
