Hollywood Fringe Winner Why Water Falls Will Move Off-Broadway | Playbill

News Hollywood Fringe Winner Why Water Falls Will Move Off-Broadway Following its Hollywood Fringe debut earlier this summer, Why Water Falls, a solo play about motherhood and fiction writing by Leigh Curran, is set to receive an Off-Broadway engagement this fall.

Directed by Mary Pat Gleason and performed by Curran, performances will run Oct. 21-Nov. 12 at the 13th Street Repertory in Manhattan. The show was named the winner of the Encore! Producers Award for the 2015 festival.

Billed by the writer herself as an evening of "true fiction," the show weaves her real-life experiences as a fiction writer and her ambivalence towards motherhood, as told through fictional characters. It is described as a "a smart, funny, thought provoking evening of true fiction that looks at making peace with controversial life choices in a whole new way."
