News Hollywood Salutes June Allyson Nov. 2 The late June Allyson, who appeared in several Broadway productions before making her name in MGM musicals, will be posthumously honored at the El Portal Theatre in California Nov. 2.

A host of MGM legends are scheduled to reunite for the one-night-only event, which is titled Hollywood Salutes June Allyson with Legends of the Silver Screen. Among those set to take part in the 7:30 PM evening include Gloria DeHaven, Betty Garrett, Margaret O'Brien and Debbie Reynolds. Paul Ryan will host Hollywood Salutes, which is being produced by Karen G. Cadle. A champagne-dessert reception will follow the tribute.

On Broadway June Allyson was seen in Sing Out the News, Very Warm for May, Higher and Higher, Panama Hattie, Best Foot Forward and Forty Carats. Her numerous film credits include "Good News," "Till the Clouds Roll By," "Girl Crazy," "Best Foot Forward," "All Girl Revue," "The Prisoner of Swing," "Sing for Sweetie," "Dime a Dance," "Ups and Downs," "The Stratton Story," "The Glenn Miller Story," "Strategic Air Command," "Little Women" and "The Shrike." Ms. Allyson died July 8 at her home in Ojai, California. She was 88.
