Nobel Prize-Winner Derek Walcott's The Odyssey , a stage interpretation of Homer's classic verse, will be presented by Willow Cabin Theater Company for six weeks, April 23-June 2, and will be directed by Edward Berkeley at the Theatre of St. Clement's.
Berkeley's long list of accomplishments as a director includes the Tony nominated Wilder, Wilder, Wilder , and Norman Cowin's Anatomy of Sound , for which Berkeley received a Drama Desk nomination.
In addition to the NobelPrize in literature, Walcott has also won numerous awards including the Royal Society of Literature Award and the Welsh Arts Council International Writer's prize. His major theatre credit previous to this was the ill-fated Broadway musical Cape Man.
The Theater at St. Clement's is located at 423 West 46th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues, and The Odyssey will run from April 23 through June 2.
