In France, Israel Horovitz is probably one of the most popular living American playwrights, with more than 15 of his plays translated and performed in French. Horovitz's The Widow's Blind Date(Le Baiser De La Veuve) is now running at the Theatre du Nord-Ouest, translated by Eric Kahane. The play is directed by Pierre-Olivier Mornas who is currently starring as the serial-killer in Ben Elton's hit, PopCorn, at the Theatre La Bruyere. Laura Favali, Laurent Bateau and Steve Suissa star as the the three childhood friends whose gathering will turn out to be more tragic than nostalgic.
