The New York City premiere of Phil Geoffrey Bond's The Citadel is being presented by Expanded Arts. The show, officially opening Oct. 23, began previews Oct. 21 and runs through Nov. 13.

Expanded Arts artistic director Jennifer Spahr announced that Citadel features Kelly McAllister and author Bond.

Citadel explores the unlikely friendship of two men forced to share a small hospital room in the rural Midwest.

Developed at the famed Sundance Theatre Lab as well as NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and then at Ball State University, the Sundance workshop featured Elizabeth Marvel, Ned Eisenberg and the author.

Directed by Jerry McAllister, Citadel plays Wed.-Sat. at 7 PM, Oct. 21- Nov. 13. Opening night is Oct. 23. Tickets can be reserved by calling (212) 253-1813. Expanded Arts is located at 85 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side. -- By Murdoch McBride and Robert Simonson
