News Houston's Alley Theatre Has The Goat's Regional Premiere Jan. 17-Feb. 16 The Alley Theatre, the Houston company who has forged close ties with Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning playwright Edward Albee, will host the regional premiere of his latest work, The Goat or Who is Sylvia?. The often-comic drama about the marital discord an interspecific affair causes between a lovelorn architect and his passionate wife plays the intimate Neuhaus Stage Jan. 17-Feb. 16, 2003.

The Alley Theatre, the Houston company who has forged close ties with Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning playwright Edward Albee, will host the regional premiere of his latest work, The Goat or Who is Sylvia?. The often-comic drama about the marital discord an interspecific affair causes between a lovelorn architect and his passionate wife plays the intimate Neuhaus Stage Jan. 17-Feb. 16, 2003. The Goat will run concurrently with a 40th anniversary revival of Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, playing on the Large Stage Jan. 10-Feb. 8, 2003. Alley artistic director Gregory Boyd will direct.

The Goat continues on Broadway with Bill Irwin and Sally Field in the lead roles. Albee's first on Broadway since the early 1980's, the piece won a Tony for Best Play and a nomination for Best Actress for original star Mercedes Ruehl.
