Houston's seasonal musical theatre, Theatre Under the Stars, will span styles and history from motown to rock 'n' roll, from 1776 to the 1940's and 50's, in season 2000. Offerings include Damn Yankees, Evita, Buddy, 1776 and The Wiz. Shows run in both the Arena Theatre and Brown Theatre at the Wortham Center. Opening the season at the Arena will be Damn Yankees (March 21-April 2, 2000) with 1776 following in the same venue Oct. 10-22. The Arena season ends with The Wiz Dec. 5-17. In the summer season at the Wortham will be Evita July 11-23 and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story Aug. 8-20.
