Paula Vogel's Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive takes to the airwaves Nov. 8 when "Chicago Theatres on the Air" present a radio broadcast on 98.7 WFMT.

The performance, recorded Sept. 24 for a studio audience, features Bruce Davison (who played the same role Off-Broadway), Shannon Cochran, Joy Gregory, Rondi Reed, Alan Wilder and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

The drama offers a funny, tender, haunted reminiscence of a woman's molestation by her charming uncle.

Chicago Theatres on the Air presents eight staged readings per season by eight professional Illinois troupes at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, IL. The recordings are not syndicated to other radio markets, but are sold for home use.

Upcoming airings include Court Theatre's School for Wives and the performance premiere of Keith Reddin's But Not for Me with Harry Groener (Nov. 29). The April-October season has been recorded and begins again in the spring with eight new productions yet to be announced. Call (847) 673-6300 for "Chicago Theatres on the Air" information.
