News Hudson, Diggs, McDonald, Vereen and Williams Nominated for NAACP Image Awards Jennifer Hudson, Vanessa Williams, Blair Underwood and Dulé Hill are among the nominees for 40th NAACP Image Awards.

Tony winner Audra McDonald joined Corbin Bleu, Keke Palmer, Nate Parker and Regina Taylor Jan. 7 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel to announce the nominees.

Academy Award-winning "Dreamgirls" star Jennifer Hudson, who released her debut solo album "Spotlight" last fall, was nominated for Outstanding New Artist, Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (in a duet with Fantasia Barrino), Outstanding Music Video ("Spotlight"), Outstanding Song ("Spotlight") and Outstanding Album.

Hudson also earned nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for "Secret Life of Bees," which was also nominated for Outstanding Motion Picture.

Hudson's "Dreamgirls" co-star, Beyoncé Knowles, also competes for Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Music Video ("If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies"), Outstanding Song ("Single Ladies") and Outstanding Album ("I Am…Sasha Fierce").

Knowles' nominations also cross over into the Motion Picture categories for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for "Cadillac Records." The film is also nominated for Outstanding Motion Picture. The made for television movie of "A Raisin in the Sun" was nominated for Outstanding Television Movie, and earned nominations for cast members Audra McDonald, Sean Combs, Sean Patrick Thomas, Phylicia Rashad and Sanaa Lathan.

Nominated theatre actors also include America Ferrera ("Ugly Betty"), Blair Underwood ("The New Adventures of Old Christine," "In Treatment," "Dirty Sexy Money"), Dulé Hill ("Psych"), Vanessa Williams ("Ugly Betty," "Flirting with Forty"), Chandra Wilson ("Grey's Anatomy"), Loretta Divine ("Eli Stone"), Laurence Fishburne ("CSI"), Taye Diggs ("Private Practice"), Alfre Woodard ("My Own Worst Enemy," "Family That Preys"), Angela Bassett ("ER," "Meet the Browns"), Audra McDonald ("Private Practice"), S. Epatha Merkerson ("Law & Order"), Andre Braugher ("The Andromeda Strain"), Ben Vereen ("Accidental Friendship"), Charles S. Dutton ("Racing for Time"), Jeffrey Wright ("Cadillac Records"), Don Cheadle ("Traitor"), Queen Latifah ("Secret Life of Bees"), Rosario Dawson ("Seven Pounds"), Mos Def ("Cadillac Records") and Sophie Okonedo ("Secret Life of Bees").
