Garner, who appeared on Broadway in Cyrano de Bergerac, will produce the comedy in which she will also star as a Midwestern woman competing in a local butter carving contest. Jason Micallef penned the screenplay.
Jim Field Smith will direct the film that will feature Jackman (A Steady Rain, The Boy from Oz) as Garner's former romance, and Silverstone (most recently on Broadway in Time Stands Still) as the adoptive mother of a girl who competes against Garner.
Yara Shahidi and Ashley Greene will also appear in the film; shooting begins this month.
