News Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway Racks Up Multi-Million Dollar Advance The Boy from Oz has yet to begin performances, but the limited engagement of Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway has a $6 million advance, according to the New York Post.

As previously reported, Australian native Jackman, who won a Tony Award for his Broadway debut in The Boy from Oz and was later seen opposite Daniel Craig in A Steady Rain, will return to The Great White Way in his solo show, Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, which is scheduled to run Oct. 25, 2011-Jan. 1, 2012, at the Broadhurst with an official opening Nov. 10.

In a statement Jackman said, "I can't believe it's been seven years since I was singing and dancing on Broadway. There is nothing like performing on the Great White Way and I'm so excited to be coming 'home.'"

The Broadway engagement, which features an 18-piece orchestra, follows limited runs in Toronto and San Francisco.

In Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, the stage and screen star performs a personal selection of his favorite musical numbers that reflect on his life and career.

The creative team includes Warren Carlyle (musical staging and choreography), Patrick Vaccariello (musical direction), John Lee Beatty (scenic designer), Ken Billington (lighting design), William Ivey Long (costume designer), John Shivers (sound design) and Alexander V. Nichols (projection and video design). Jackman, who was seen on screen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," earned a Tony Award for his work in the Broadway musical The Boy From Oz. He is also known for his film roles in the "X-Men" trilogy, "Someone Like You," "Swordfish," "Kate and Leopold," "Van Helsing," "The Fountain" and "Happy Feet" (in voice). His stage credits also include Trevor Nunn's staging of Oklahoma! at Britian's National Theatre and award-winning work in productions of Sunset Boulevard and Beauty and the Beast in his homeland. He will also be seen in the upcoming film version of Les Miserables.

Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway is produced by Robert Fox and The Shubert Organization.

The production will play Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday at 2 PM and 8 PM, Thursday at 8 PM, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM.

The Broadhurst Theatre is located at 235 West 44th Street.
