News Hugh Jackman's "Viva Laughlin!" Series Gets CBS Pilot Order CBS has ordered a pilot of "Viva Laughlin!," a musical drama executive produced by Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman, who will also guest star, according to published reports.

The musical drama is about Ripley Holden, a small-time casino owner in Laughlin, NV. It is based on the BBC's "Viva Blackpool."

The work is a joint production of Sony and CBS Paramount. Gabriele Muccino, who directed "The Pursuit of Happyness," will direct and executive produce. Bob Lowry and Paul Talegdy are also executive producers.

Jackman received a 2004 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World awards for his acclaimed portrayal of Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz.

Jackman's other stage appearances include Curly in Oklahoma! at Britain's National Theatre (Olivier Award nomination), Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard in Australia, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast in Australia and a concert production of Carousel at Carnegie Hall.

His film credits include the "X-Men" series, "Someone Like You," "Swordfish," "Kate & Leopold" and "Van Helsing."
