An official opening night of Jan. 27 is set for The Little Prince, which is directed and re-conceived by puppeteer Scott Hitz and features a script by John Scoulllar and Rick Cummins. Monkey Boy Productions, who built puppets used in Little Shop of Horrors, co-presents the show.

The cast will feature Leila Ghaznavi as the Little Prince, Lenny Hass as the Aviator, Marc Petrosino as the Men in Planets, Carole Anne Raffa as Rose and Michael Schupbach as the Fox.

According to BRT notes, "Ostensibly a children's story, the prince's travels throughout the universe bring him into contact with several flawed adults, each of whom bears a condemnable character defect. The prince eventually travels to Earth, where he learns valuable lessons about individuality and love, and the responsibilities involved therein."

The Bristol Riverside Theatre is located at 120 Radcliffe Street in Bristol. For tickets, call (215) 785-0100 or visit brtstage.org.
