News Humble Boy Heads to West End

The National Theatre's production of Charlotte Jones's play,Humble Boy, is to transfer to the Gielgud Theatre in January, after The Graduate closes.

When Humble Boy transfers from the Cottesloe to the Gielgud Theatre, Simon Russell Beale will still be in the title role but the part of his mother will be played by Felicity Kendal rather than Dame Diana Rigg. Beale plays 35-year-old Felix Humble, a Cambridge astro-physicist in search of a unified field theory. The play's tension is developed as his work is put on hold following the sudden death of his father and his return home to a difficult and demanding mother. John Caird directs, and performances begin on Jan. 24.
