The world premiere of Jason McGaffey's A Hunter's Obituary will take place March 18 at Theatre West. The comedy-mystery has been directed by Larry Travis, produced by John Gallogly and Larry Travis, produced by John Gallogly and Larry Thomas, and features a cast that includes Elizabeth Barrett, Anthony Battelle, Kathy Bell Denton, Douglas Gabrielle, Debra Henri, Jeanne Jackson, Lynne Pickett, David Starwalt and Richard Tatum.McGaffey's satirical tale deals with two obituary writers competing for a scoop on the imminent death of a famous outdoorsman with money. The outdoorsman's wild exploits figure in the action, which takes place in the Adirondack mountains and pokes fun at our archetypes of manly men of adventure and at hyper-jealous newspaper reporters. Eventually the audience is obliged to ponder this earth-shaking question: Who would want hunter Fernuckle McCragen dead?
