The season will open with a yet-to-be-named title that will play the BU Theatre Sept. 5-Oct. 5. Ether Dome, a new drama by Elizabeth Egloff, staged by Michael Wilson, will play the Calderwood Pavilion (Oct. 17-Nov. 16). Presented in association with the La Jolla Playhouse and Hartford Stage, the new play is based on the true story of the discovery of ether as an anesthetic in 1846 Boston.
Following will be the Clifford Odets Depression-era drama Awake and Sing!, which will be directed by Melia Bensussen (Nov. 7-Dec. 7). Tony-nominated director Nicholas Martin, who staged the Tony-winning Broadway production of Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike, will again helm that Chekhov-inspired comedy (Jan. 2-Feb. 1, 2015.)
The Huntington will also premiere a new work by Playwriting Fellow Ronan Noone, The Second Girl — inspired by Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night — staged by Campbell Scott (Jan. 16-Feb. 15).
Kinky Boots Tony winner Porter will stage Wolfe's The Colored Museum (March 6-April 5); with Cromer's revival of Inge's Come Back Little Sheba to follow (March 27-April 26).
The final production will be after all the terrible things i do, a new drama about bullying by A. Rey Pamatmat. Huntington artistic director Peter DuBois directs (May 22-June 20).
