The Equity-approved Showcase production, directed by playwright Johnny Culver and produced by Linda Ferm and TV Guide critic Matt Roush, will begin performances March 6 at 7 PM and continue through March 15 at 2 PM. The cast includes Isabella Knight as Hyacinth, Culver as Emmet, Janet Lurhs as Liz, Josie Lawrence as Daisy, Jonathan Weirich as Onslow, Joscelyne Wilmouth as Rose, Edward Fagan as Richard, Kevin Schwab as Milly, Suzan Habachy as Mrs. Debden, Tom Crowfis as Daddy and Maureen Daly, Margaret Ost and Patricia Yeazell as Church Ladies.

Clarke adapted the 2010 play, which toured the U.K., from the popular TV series, which still airs on many PBS stations. In the play, press note state, "Hyacinth bullies her way into a community theater production being staged (by long-suffering neighbor Emmet) in a church hall not unlike the one where the play is being staged. Can the theater survive Hyacinth's antics?"

The series, which aired 1990-1995 on the BBC in the U.K., starred one-time Broadway leading lady Patricia Routledge as social-climbing suburbanite, who famously insists that her last name, Bucket, be pronounced "bouquet." For tickets, priced $18, visit smarttix.com or call (212) 868-4444; if available, tickets may be purchased at the door starting one hour before performances. Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church is located at 7 W. 55th St. in NYC.
