News Hyde Pierce and Ramirez Will Announce Tony Nominees; Tony Preview Concert Planned Tony Award winners David Hyde Pierce and Sara Ramirez will announce the nominees for the 62nd Annual Tony Awards May 13 live from The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

Several other Tony-related events have also been announced.

 

 

  • The Visa Signature Tonys Preview Concert — featuring performances from all 12 Tony-eligible musicals — will be taped at Jazz at Lincoln Center May 11. A Chorus Line's Mario Lopez will host the concert, which will air in the metropolitan area on WCBS-TV (Channel 2) on June 7. The program will also air across the country on O&O's and CBS affiliates between May 26 and June 7; check local listings.

  • The "Meet the Nominees" press reception will be held May 14 at The Hilton New York Hotel.

  • The Tony Nominees Luncheon — open only to those nominated for the Broadway theatre's highest award — will be held May 29. The nominees will also receive their nomination certificates that day. And, as previously announced, the 62nd Annual Tony Awards will be presented June 15. CBS-TV will broadcast the event live from Radio City Music Hall, 8-11 PM ET. (Red-carpet arrivals will begin at 6 PM).

    The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. CBS has broadcast the annual event since 1978.
