With the apparent withdrawal of Stephen "Billy Elliot" Daldry and the Donmar Warehouse's Sam Mendes from the race, it looks as if Nicholas Hytner is the favorite to take over Britain's most prestigious theatre job when Trevor Nunn comes to the end of his contract.
