The new cast members will include Nick Adams (The Pirate Queen, Chicago) as Larry, Michael Gruber (Stairway to Paradise, Cats) as Greg, Melissa Lone (Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast) as Maggie, J. Elaine Marcos (The Wedding Singer, Sweet Charity) as Connie, Krysta Rodriguez (Spring Awakening, Good Vibrations) as Bebe, Jason Patrick Sands (Legally Blonde, The Producers) as Don, Will Taylor (La Cage aux Folles, The Producers) as Bobby and Katherine Tokarz (Wicked) as Kristine.
A Chorus Line's current Paul, Jason Tam, will remain with the production through Aug. 12. Bryan Knowlton (Oliver!) will begin performances as Paul on Aug. 14.
As previously reported by Playbill.com, Kevin Worley (42nd Street, Spamalot) began performances on July 3 in the role of Al, previously played by Tony Yasbeck.
The new cast members will join the revival's originals, including Michael Berresse (Zach), Natalie Cortez (Diana), Charlotte d'Amboise (Cassie), Jessica Lee Goldyn (Val), Deidre Goodwin (Sheila), James T. Lane (Richie), Paul McGill (Mark), Heather Parcells (Judy), Jeffrey Schecter (Mike) as well as Michelle Aravena, David Baum, Mike Cannon, E. Clayton Cornelious, Dena Digiacinto, Joey Dudding, Lyndy Franklin, Nadine Isenegger, Pamela Jordan, Jessica Lea Patty, Eric Sciotto and Grant Turner.
* The Broadway revival of A Chorus Line opened Oct. 5, 2006, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. The production recouped its initial investment of $8 million 19 weeks after opening night, after 157 performances and 18 previews. The musical received two Tony Award nominations, including one for Best Revival of a Musical and the other for actress d'Amboise.
The musical's director is Bob Avian, who co-choreographed the original production with its director, the late Michael Bennett. For the revival, Baayork Lee re-staged the original choreography.
The design team reunites much of the original creative team, including Robin Wagner (sets), Theoni V. Aldredge (costumes), Natasha Katz and Tharon Musser (lighting) and Acme Sound Partners (sound).
A Chorus Line has a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by the late Edward Kleban, who later became the subject of the Broadway show A Class Act.
The original production of A Chorus Line opened at the Public Theater's Newman Theater on May 21, 1975, and transferred to Broadway's Shubert Theatre on July 25. The musical won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, along with nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. It ran for nearly 15 years, closing on April 28, 1990, after 6,137 performances.
