News Ian McKellen and Laura Linney Among BAFTA Nominees Nominations for the Orange British Academy Film Awards were announced Jan. 19. Theatre regulars Ian McKellen and Laura Linney were recognized for their performances in, respectively, "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" and "Mystic River."

McKellen and Linney picked up nominations in the supporting actor categories. McKellen's competition includes Albert Finney ("Big Fish"), Bill Nighy ("Love Actually"), Paul Bettany ("Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World") and Tim Robbins ("Mystic River"). Linney will vie for her award in a field that includes "Angels in America" star Emma Thompson ("Love Actually"), Holly Hunter ("Thirteen"), Judy Parfitt ("Girl with a Pearl Earring") and "Chicago" co-star Renee Zellweger ("Cold Mountain").

"Cold Mountain" and "The Lord of the Rings" topped the list of BAFTA nominees, with the former garnering 13 nominations and the latter 12. Other Best Film contenders include "Big Fish," "Lost in Translation" and "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World."

The BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards will be presented on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Odeon, Leicester Square. Stephen Fry will host the ceremony, which will be broadcast on BBC One. The complete list of this year's nominees follows:
