#IdentityWeek, a four-day panel event exploring racial, cultural, sexual and gender identity in the theatre, will be presented September 27-30 in New York City.
Samuel French, Playbill and HowlRound have partnered to present the event that will feature leading industry members discussing issues at the forefront of identity in theatre, including identity, inclusion and representation onstage and off.
In recent years Samuel French also presented #RightsWeek, which focused on intellectual property or artists, and #MusicalsWeek, which featured discussions about the creation of and representation in musicals.
Each #IdentityWeek panel will take place at the Vineyard Theatre from 6:30-7:30 PM. Panels are open to the public and will be live-tweeted by Samuel French (@MrSamuelFrench), as well as live-streamed by HowlRound.
IdentityWeek panels include:
Playwrights & Their Identity (September 27)
Onstage & Off: The State of Transgender Artists (September 28)
