News Idina Menzel Has Plans for Non-Musical Stage Outing The Tony-winning artist recently took part in an online interview.

Tony winner Idina Menzel recently took part in a Reddit.com Ask Me Anything session with online fans to celebrate the release of her latest solo recording, idina.

The award-winning singing actress was asked whether she would consider performing in a straight play. Menzel answered, “Yep. It's already in the works.” To date, Menzel's Broadway outings have all been in musical productions: Rent, Aida, Wicked and If/Then.

Menzel, who won a Tony Award for her performance as Elphaba in the aforementioned Wicked, announced her engagement to actor Aaron Lohr September 23 via Twitter.



Lohr was seen in the 2005 film adaptation of Rent alongside Menzel; he played Steve in the Life Support group. He also performed with Menzel in Michael John LaChiusa’s See What I Wanna See and was seen in the original Off-Broadway production of the pop opera bare.

The actress was previously married to Rent co-star Taye Diggs, but the two separated in late 2013 after ten years of marriage.
