News Idina Menzel Will Return to London for One-Night-Only Concert; Evening Will Be Recorded for BBC Radio Tony Award winner Idina Menzel, who is scheduled to return to Broadway in spring 2014 in If/Then, a new musical by the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal writing team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, will offer a one-night-only concert in London April 24 at the Hackney Empire.

The evening, which is entitled Idina Menzel and Friends, will be recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 2's "Friday Night Is Music Night." The acclaimed singing actress will be backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Mike Dixon.

The performance will be broadcast April 26 at 8 PM GMT on BBC Radio 2.

Menzel won a Tony Award for Leading Actress in a Musical for her work as Elphaba in Wicked; she also opened the London production of that hit musical. Menzel created the role of Maureen in the original Broadway company of Rent, and her other theatrical credits include the City Center Encores! production of Hair, Manhattan Theatre Club's The Wild Party, the Public Theater's See What I Wanna See and the benefit Funny Girl concert. Menzel's screen credits include "Glee," "Ask the Dust," "Rent" and "Enchanted."
