News Imminence, With Tony Nominee Campbell, Begins at LaMaMa Feb. 15 Tony-nominated actress Amelia Campbell begins performances in the LaMaMa production of Imminence Feb. 15.

Campbell appears in the work, which was created by frequent LaMaMa performers The Talking Band. Joining Campbell onstage are William Badgett, David Brooks, Kim Gambino, Lula Graves, Kristine Lee, Ellen Maddow, Greg Manley, Steven Rattazzi and Tina Shepard.

Written and directed by Talking Band member Paul Zimet, Imminence follows "three generations of a family in an exploration of time, and how it shapes our lives from the smallest human instant to the massive geotectonic cycles of the earth," according to press notes. "Following the death of her mother, Simone takes her twenty year old daughter, on a cross-country car trip to visit her parents' first home in Coney Island. The narrative shifts between the past and present, not only through the generations of Simone's family, but also through the much longer scale of geological time."

Talking Band member Ellen Maddow has penned acoustic music for the production, which also features electronic music by Talking Band collaborator Peter Gordon. Kit Fitzgerald provides live and recorded video, while Hilary Easton choreographs the production.

The Obie-winning design team also features Nic Ularu (scenic design), Carol Mullins (lighting design) and Kiki Smith (costume design).

Formed in 1974, the Talking Band has been a creative force within the downtown theatre scene collaborating with interdisciplinary designers, musicians and poets to create works of rich and energetic language underscored by a broad range of musical expression and visual imagery. Imminence officially opens at LaMaMa e.t.c Feb. 17 and will continue through March 2. Tickets are available by calling (212) 475-7710 or by visiting www.lamama.org.

LaMaMa e.t.c. is located at 74A East 4th Street in Manhattan.
