News In the Heights Troupers Will Perform and Sign Cast Recording in NYC June 5 Principal cast members of the Tony Award-nominated musical In the Heights will celebrate the release of their original Broadway cast recording with a June 5 in-store performance at Virgin Megastore in Times Square.

The special event begins at 5 PM (at 1540 Broadway, at 46th Street) and will feature songs performed by cast members. A post-performance CD-signing will feature all 11 principals, including Andréa Burns, Janet Decal, Robin De Jesús, Carlos Gomes, Mandy Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Karen Olivo and Seth Stewart.

In the Heights, now at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Ghostlight Records will release the original cast recording — 23 tracks, two CDs, a 68-page booklet containing cast photos and song lyrics — June 3.

The double album was produced by Andres Levin and Ghostlight president Kurt Deutsch.

In the Heights is billed as "the quintessential New York musical, about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition."

It was conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda; with book by Quiara Alegría Hudes; music and lyrics by Miranda; orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman; direction by Thomas Kail and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Music director is Alex Lacamoire.

In the Heights is currently playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. The show's three lead producers, off and on Broadway, are Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman.
